Amber Heard dropped another "proof" to complete her planned checkmate against Johnny Depp.

As Heard is yet to accept the recent defamation trial verdict, she - through her lawyers - asked the court to declare a mistrial instead and urged a new trial to proceed. The new filing on Friday highlighted that a wrong juror was present during the defamation trial.

In the new court documents filed on July 8, which were obtained by CNN, Heard's team argued that one of the jurors did not match the list of jury panel list's information that was sent before the trial began.

The filing claimed that Juror 15 was born in 1970. However, the summons was actually for someone of the same last name born in 1945. They alleged that Juror 15 and the supposed juror live in the same address - one a 77-year-old and another a 52-year-old.

"Juror No. 15 was not the individual summoned for jury duty on April 11, 2022 and therefore was not part of the jury panel and could not have properly served on the jury at this trial. Therefore, a mistrial should be declared and a new trial ordered," Heard's team said. "As the Court no doubt agrees, it is deeply troubling for an individual not summoned for jury duty nonetheless to appear for jury duty and serve on a jury, especially in a case such as this."

Amid the argument, an attorney in Fairfax Jon Katz, said that the filing could be useless as the court might rule that the trial was tainted. Instead, it would question whether Heard could show real prejudice.

Meanwhile, Deadline noted that the alleged mistake was not noticed by anyone in the court.

Amber Heard Asks The Court To Toss Verdict

The new filing came days after Heard's attorneys filed a separate motion in which they claimed that Depp did not present evidence of malice or defamation.

"Mr. Depp presented no evidence that Ms. Heard did not believe she was abused. Therefore, Mr. Depp did not meet the legal requirements for actual malice, and the verdict should be set aside," the filing said, per EW.

The "Pirates of the Caribbean" star won all three defamation claims against his estranged wife. He was initially awarded $15 million in damages, which was reduced to $10.35 million due to Virginia law caps punitive damages.

Heard only received $2 million because Depp's former lawyer called her claims a hoax. Still, she has not settled the damages she owes the actor.
