"Jurassic World" star Bryce Dallas Howard opens up on the salary imbalance she has dealt with for the Jurassic trilogy, and how co-star Chris Pratt helped level the playing field for her.

Bryce Dallas Howard starred in the dinosaur-packed trilogy that wrapped up this 2022 with "Jurassic World Dominionalong with Chris Pratt. Released by Universal Pictures, the trilogy has been a smash at the box office with its first installment, "Jurassic World" in 2015, then followed by "Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom" in 2018. Howard tells Insider that she was "paid so much less" than her co-star for their work in the "Jurassic World" films

"When I started negotiating for 'Jurassic,' it was 2014, and it was a different world, and I was at a great disadvantage," Howard said. "And, unfortunately, you have to sign up for three movies, and so your deals are set."

The 41 year old actress, however, expressed her gratitude for Chris Pratt. After discussing her dispute in salaries, the "Guardians of the Galaxy" actor had taken action to give his co-star equal terms on other franchise-related opportunities such as video games and theme park rides.

"He literally told me: 'You guys don't even have to do anything. I'm gonna do all the negotiating. We're gonna be paid the same, and you don't have to think about this, Bryce,'" Howard detailed. "And I love him so much for doing that. I really do, because I've been paid more for those kinds of things than I ever was for the movie."

Howard had reprised her character, Claire Dearing, for voice parts in video games, rides, and TV series like "Lego Jurassic World", "Lego Jurassic World: The Indominus Escape", "Jurassic World Evolution", "Jurassic World: The Ride", "Jurassic World Evolution 2", and many more.

Just How Much Were They Getting Paid?

The actress did not specify just how much she was paid exactly, but The Hollywood Reporter suggested that her salary was 8 million dollars while Pratt had made 10 million dollars, based on a 2018 report. However, Howard tells Insider that she was actually getting paid even lower than the report.

Unfortunately, this isn't the first time that actresses have opened up about the inequalities in pay, but now, more renowned female talents have stood up for equal pay over the years.

As of now, Universal Studios has not commented on the actress' call out on unequal pay.
