Jason Momoa and Lisa Bonet agreed to officially end their marriage two years after they announced their separation.

The "Cosby Show" star, 56, filed for divorce on Monday in Los Angeles, citing "irreconcilable differences" as the reason behind their split. The filing came two years after they announced their split, per People. However, the court documents revealed that the former couple separated on Oct. 7, 2020. The "Aquaman" star, 44, married Bonet on Oct. 7, 2017.

The exes settled the divorce just a day after Bonet's filing, Entertainment Tonight reported. They agreed to share custody of their two children -- daughter Lola Iolani, 16, and son Nakoa-Wolf, 15 -- and expenses related to them without any formal child support to pay. Both also agreed to waive their right to spousal support.

Interestingly, Momoa and Bonet are still not technically single after they settled their divorce. Based on the documents obtained by ET, their single status would be returned on July 9.

Momoa and Bonet announced their split in a since-deleted post on Instagram after about five years of marriage and nearly two decades together.

"We are parting ways in marriage," the former couple wrote, adding that they decided to share the news with the public "so that as we go about our lives, we may do so with dignity and honesty."

The exes also mentioned a "revolution" and "feeling the squeeze," which contributed to the split.

"We have all felt the squeeze and changes of these transformational times... A revolution is unfolding, and our family is of no exception... feeling and growing from the seismic shifts occurring," the joint statement read.

Many were surprised with their split announcement because fans didn't see it coming. An insider told People at the time that Momoa showed no signs of marital crisis when he filmed "Aquaman 2" in London. He was even spotted relaxing and chilling with his pals at several local pubs and restaurants.

"He was very chilled. He looked really happy. He was always really happy and chilled. It looked like he just really enjoyed having a good time," an unnamed source said.

However, another unnamed insider claimed to People that things grew apart between Momoa and Bonet. They were reportedly "amazing for years until they no longer were." The trajectory of his career took a toll on their relationship because he reportedly had to be away from home most of the time, but Bonet "had no interest in joining" him "on every location."

"For some people, it might strengthen their marriage. For Lisa and Jason's marriage, being apart has been a disaster," the source claimed.
