The Giving Pies bakery in San Jose, California, was elated to receive a promising order from Tesla, requesting a sizable order of 4,000 mini pies to celebrate Black History Month on Valentine's Day. However, Tesla backed out of the order, last minute, right after adding additional pies to their original order.

The small-business was looking forward to a smooth transaction but was disappointed when Laura at Tesla had ditched them not once, but twice — withholding the initial payment and the final payment.

Giving Pies took to their public Facebook page to cite the grievance, saying they wanted to share the story to get closure in a post they called "How Tesla's Actions Hurt My Small Black Women-Owned Business."

The post went on to explain that Tesla placed a massive order of mini pies, skipped out on payment, called to apologize while simultaneously ordering more pies just to call back and cancel the order all together.

"In a heartfelt message to Laura, I expressed the profound disappointment and damage inflicted on my business," Voahangy Rasetarinera said, owner of the bakery. "I outlined how their actions had disrupted my operations, strained my staff, and tarnished my trust in doing business with big corporations." The owner reportedly lost $16,000 in supplies and labor, according to The Daily Mail.

She continued: "To me, it was clear that Tesla's corporate culture prioritized convenience over accountability, disregarding the livelihoods of small business owners like myself."

Once CEO of Tesla and tech billionaire Elon Musk caught wind of the disappointment, he responded to the tweet posted by KRON-4, writing, "Just hearing about this. Will make things good with the bakery."

Musk, 52, paid $2,000 for the order and attempted to submit an additional sizable order to support the business.

However, the owner declined the offer after well-wishing supporters swooped in, flooding The Giving Pies with new business.

"It's incredible, I'm blown away," Rasetarinera told NBC. "I'm so grateful, it's amazing, people are amazing."
