Piers Morgan caught up with OK! Magazine Thursday, speaking adamantly about his concern following the Duchess of Cambridge and her recent image tampering fail

"Why is Princess Catherine, who is recovering from abdominal surgery, spending time hunched over photoshop, making amateur edits of official portraits when they literally have servants to do that," Morgan, 58, asked. "Most baffling of all, why not edit in the missing wedding ring?"

The former 'America's Got Talent' host believes the photo controversy "could" be an alarming signal that the royal family are "hiding something."

"Kate needs a break, I agree, but it was their decision to release this photograph and it's led to even more conspiracy theories," the UK journalist added. "On one level [the edited picture] could be trivial — she could be fine and doing well and tried to do something to correct the conspiracies and got it wrong — or it could be that they're hiding something."

The picture in question was a family photo released by the palace for Mother's Day — which is celebrated on March 10 in the United Kingdom.

The family photo featured her alongside her children Prince George, 10, Princess Charlotte, 8, and Prince Louis, 5, presented a number of discrepancies, to which Princess Kate responded, "Like many amateur photographers, I do occasionally experiment with editing," on X, formerly known as Twitter.

Needless to say, many were unsatisfied with her response. After removing herself from the public eye after undergoing abdonimal surgery, she was spotted in a SUV with her mother, Carole Middleton, for the first time in months in March.

"I've been told some stuff that if even half of it is true, it's pretty alarming what is happening. I don't know what to believe  — nor do any of us. We're not there," Morgan stated.

Within hours of the photo's release, media outlets had all issued "kill" notifications citing the images manipulation.

An exclusive source told 'US Weekly' that Middleton wants to keep the details involving her condition as "private as possible."

"Kate feels she's entitled to heal and recuperate without all of this frenzied speculation," the source said. "Neither Kate nor William think her medical records should be for public consumption."
