Thor: The Dark World fans may get to see another favorite character from the franchise get his own movie soon.

A new petition launched on Change.org have fans clamoring for Loki, the sinister adopted brother of Thor, to get his own film. Tom Hiddleston played the character in 2011's Thor and he was the villain in 2012's The Avengers.

The "Free Loki" campaign, which referenced the reaction to Hiddleston's costume appearance at Comic-Con 2013, calls for the second Prince of Asgard to get his own solo film because the character has become such a huge favorite.

"We feel Loki (as portrayed by Tom Hiddleston) due to the astounding following both the character and actor have earned as a result of the Marvel films, more than warrants further exploration of his story," the petition stated.

"We believe such an endeavor would not only be profitable and successful but provide a larger view for general audiences of the incredibly complex and diverse popularity a well-known villain of the Marvel universe is gifted with," it continued. "To explore this darker side of the Thor storyline would be to give credit to a compelling individual, his remarkable portrayer and an appreciative audience that feels a fierce loyalty to both in an unprecedented way. Simply put: he has an army."

The petition racked up almost 25,000 signatures at time of publication.

Neither Hiddleston nor anyone at Marvel has commented on the petition and whether or not they are considering the movie, though the petition does quote Marvel's President of Production, Kevin Feige, as noting how nice it is to see the response to the character.

"I've been surprised and happy that so many cast members and characters have gotten that response. Hiddelston in a case a case in himself," Feige reportedly said. "We discovered that when we were going around the world promoting the movie, in Moscow and the U.K. and in Rome, and all these people behind the barricades at the premieres were holding 'Loki's Armies' signs or wearing homemade helmets with horns on it."

If Marvel does green light a film about Loki, it would be the first comic-book movie that centers on the villain instead of a hero.

Fans clamoring for Loki in general can see him when Thor: The Dark World hits theaters Nov. 8.
