'World's Sexiest Film Actress' Emma Watson is set to land the lead in Scarlett Johansson’s directorial debut.

Watson is reportedly on the top of a short list of actresses Johansson is considering for the lead in her film Summer Crossing, based on the Truman Capote novel of the same name.

Watson, who shot to stardom at only 11-years-old in the first Harry Potter film, and went on to reprise her role as Hermione Granger during the entire eight-film series, is reportedly the favorite to portray the character of Grady McNeil, a rebellious New York debutant in 1945 who begins an affair with a Jewish man, and against her family's wishes, marries him, despite their cultural divide.

According to Up and Comers, Watson reportedly caught Johansson's eye when she starred in Sofia Coppola's The Bling Ring this summer, convincingly playing a teenager involved with a group that robbed the homes of several celebrities.

Watson, now 23, has worked hard to move past her iconic role, by also starring in the recently wrapped Darren Aronofsky's Noah, which follows the Biblical Noah as he suffers from delusion of an apocalyptic flood. She is also currently attached to playing Emma Forrest in the memoir film Your Voice in My Head, where a self-destructive writer struggles with personal issues.

Both projects are expected to hit theaters next year, and if she wins the role in Johansson's film, production is slated to begin then as well.
