Mark Zuckerberg, 28,  has maried his long time girlfriend Priscilla Chan. The Facebook founder updated his status to "married" today. The billionaire reportedly married his 27-year-old girlfriend at a small ceremony at his home in Palo Alto, California. The wedding ceremony had less than 100 guests, according to Washington Post. The guests apparently thought they were attending Chan's graduation celebration.

Priscilla Chan earned her medical degree on Monday from the University of California. "I'm so proud of you, Dr. Chan : )" Zuckerberg wrote on his Facebook page.

Zuckerberg is said to have designed the engagement ring himself, which features a "very simple ruby".


Zuckerberg's company, Facebook, began trading publicly yesterday reaching a total value of as much as $122 billion though it dropped later in the day.

The couple met at Harvard and have been together for more than nine years. They reportedly met at a party while waiting in line for the bathroom.


Chan told The New Yorker that she thought Zuckerberg was "this nerdy guy who was just a little bit out there."

Zuckerberg is now one of the youngest richest men in the world, with a fortune of $19.1 billion. He founded Facebook in the dorms of Harvard in 2004.
