Guardians of the Galaxy may have wrapped on principal photography, but one of the film's most iconic characters has been avoiding the cameras by while holing up in a recording studio instead.

Bradley Cooper is providing the voice of Rocket Raccoon for the upcoming James Gunn film, and the American Hustle actor has been hard at work for the Marvel endeavor.

"I have very specific ideas about what Rocket Raccoon is like and he lets me push him any which way to get to where I want to go and he does not give up and he sits there in the studio all day long until his voice is sore and his eyes are bloodshot and he's bleeding form his nose and ears but he's turned in some good Raccoon voices, so who cares about Bradley Cooper as long as he gives me a good Raccoon," joked director James Gunn, according to MTV.

According to Cooper, the duo has spent a lot of time trying to get the character's voice just right.

"One thing we debated was...he's seen as a cockney accent sometimes, so we talked about whether we'd do that or do this sort of other guy from the city a little bit," Cooper told IGN without actually revealing Gunn's final decision.

What fans do know for sure, however, is that the Star-Lord (Chris Pratt)/ Rocket Raccoon dynamic pairing will look a lot like one from an iconic film.

"I think Rocket is dynamic," Cooper told MTV. "He's the sort of Joe Pesci in Goodfellas guy. You need Henry Hill."
