Fans of the cult classic film Dumb and Dumber can rest assured that the neither Lloyd (Jim Carrey) nor Harry (Jeff Daniels) will change at all in the upcoming sequel.

Peter Farrelly, who is returning to direct the sequel along with brother Bobby, spoke with Empire recently about the impending sequel. Peter notes that Lloyd and Harry are "exactly the same" as they were at the end of 1994's Dumb and Dumber.

"At the end of the last movie, they were exactly the same as they were at the beginning," he says. "There had been zero growth. And now they're still doing stupid f--ing s--."

Peter also says that he and his brother saved some jokes over the years that would work better in Dumb and Dumber 2 (stylized as Dumb and Dumber To) than in any other project they were working on.

"We didn't want to make Dumb And Dumber Lite," says Peter. "The first one's a high bar to beat, so whenever we came up with really dumb jokes that didn't fit whatever movie we were working on, I just put them into the Dumb And Dumber file."

The other movies have included Hall Pass, The Three Stooges and Movie 43, none of which have been particularly high brow, either.

Dumb and Dumber To features Lloyd and Harry going on another cross country road trip for the purpose of locating Harry's daughter.

Dumb and Dumber To is scheduled for release in theaters on Nov. 14.
