There is new speculation on an Australian actor possibly playing the role of The Joker in the highly anticipated Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice.

Jesse Eisenberg Playing Lex Luthor As 'A Different Person' in Man of Steel 2?

Callan Mulvey, who has starred in such blockbusters as 300: Rise of an Empire and Captain America: The Winter Soldier, is the latest actor speculating to be playing The Joker for the Superman-Batman film. TMZ recently released a video stating their evidence for Mulvey possibly playing the iconic Batman villain.

Such evidence includes the fact that he will be appearing in the film in some capacity but his character is still not reported on IMDb. The gossip site asked the actor outright if he was indeed playing the comical yet terrifying villain, and Mulvey was predictably tight-lipped.

Batman vs Superman Title A Clear Reference To Justice League?

"I can't say anything, man. I'm sworn to secrecy. You're going to have to wait and see," he said.

The speculation that The Joker would even appear in Batman v Superman started when the film's cinematographer, Larry Fong, posted a photo of a playing card wedged into concrete. Playing cards are a trademark of The Joker, so many fans jumped to the conclusion that the villain was appearing in the film.

However, Fong eventually silenced all Joker rumors on his Twitter account. The cinematographer replied to a tweet from a follower who commented on everyone jumping to conclusions about the photo.

"Finally, someone who can see the obvious," Fong said in response. Thank you."

Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice is scheduled for release in theaters on May 6, 2016.
