"The Amazing Spider-Man," starring Andrew Garfield and Emma Stone, broke a box office record for a Tuesday opening, according to Sony Pictures Entertainment.

The film grossed $35 million in its first day in U.S. and Canada, breaking the previous record of $27.8 million for a Tuesday debut held by the first "Transformers" film in 2007.

Emma Stone has even more good news: after gracing her first Vogue magazine cover last month with the July issue and posing with boyfriend/ co-star Garfield for the August issue of Teen Vogue Magazine, she has landed on the cover of Vogue U.K.'s August issue.

"It feels like it's happening to a different person," says the 23 year-old Revlon spokesmodel.

The actress is wearing a leather and wool chauffeur-style cap over her strawberry-blonde hair to compliment her black and white hounds tooth sweater, both by Italian fashion brand Max Mara.

According to Belfast Telegraph, Stone told the magazine that becoming too famous would make her physically ill. "To not walk around would be awful," she told UK Vogue. "I don't think that that would ever actually happen..... to the point where I can't go anywhere. But that idea makes me physically ill."

As for Garfield's take on his girlfiend Stone: "Working with Emma was like diving into a thrilling, twisting river and never holding on to the sides. From the start. To the end. Spontaneous. In the moment. Present. Terrifying. Vital. The only way acting with someone should be."

Stone admitted it took a while to realize Andrew was British, according to Showbizspy.com. The actress says she didn't hear Garfield's accent until they finished making the movie.

"Once the movie was over, I was surprised to hear his completely British accent, because on set, obviously, we were speaking in American accents, so in between takes he was pretty American," she was quoted in the article. "I had such a great time at the audition with him, and felt like I trusted him and respected him and liked him as an actor."

Garfield was nominated for a Golden Globe Award for Best Performance by an Actor in a Supporting Role for "The Social Network".

Stone has appeared in other hit films including "The Help," "Superbad," "Zombieland" and "Crazy, Stupid, Love".
