Taking on a project away from the microphone and candy-covered outfits, singer Katy Perry has just signed on to be the new celebrity endorser for PopChips.

According to a statement released by the company on July 25, the "Part of Me" singer has become an investor and representative for the snack food. She will also be a creative partner in the company's branding and advertising.

"The bag stood out in the minibar and I was pleasantly surprised when I read the back of the label and saw that it was a healthier choice. I was hooked after my first bite!" Perry said in a release. "When I discover something good, I want to share it with everyone I know."

Fellow celebrity investors include Ashton Kutcher and Sean "Diddy" Combs.

Kutcher's ads for PopChips circulated criticism earlier this year when one depicted him as an Indian man and was viewed by some consumers as being racist, according to the Huffington Post. The ad was later pulled by the company.

Perry will appear in ads coming out this fall. Aside from a very public divorce from Russell Brand recently finalized, the pop star had her first film released this summer,  the 3-D concert documentary, "Katy Perry: Part of Me," which she also acted as producer on.

Other business ventures include the two fragrances she has out, Purr and Meow!

"What started out as a snack craving for Katy Perry has turned into an exciting partnership - including being featured in our first national advertising campaign launching this fall - that will combine Katy's unique style and personality with our mission to put the fun back in snacking," PopChips stated on their site.

The company's sign off as being "never fried. Never baked," has made it a healthy snack choice that is growing popularity across the nation and Perry has admitted to being a long-time fan of the brand.
