"Fifty Shades of Grey" writer E.L. James recently made an appearance on Katie Couric's new program and came clean on already having a shortlist of potential Anastasia Steele and Christian Grey candidates for the film.

"I have three people who could play Christian and I think four who could play Anna, and I'm not going to tell you any of them," James said on the show.

Since the racy read was revealed to be headed to the big screen, many loyal fans of "Fifty Shades" have been obsessively buzzing over the cast's potential suitors.  One of which is True Blood's Alexander Skarsgard, who has been positively buzzed about for the role of billionaire Christian Grey.

According to The Stir on Sept 17, Skarsgard had expressed interest in the role, as the heart throb actor recently responded to a female fan in the following way when she yelled out that he should play Grey:

"Of course.  It's a great script."

However, Skarsgard then back-tracked by stating that there would be "so many variables.  It depends on who's directing it and who's in it."

The sexually explicit "Fifty Shades of Grey" premise revolves around a recent college graduate Anastasia Steele, who gets herself caught up in a dominant and submissive sexual relationship with billionaire Christian Grey, through an "agreement," as both explore the world of bondage, dominance, submission and masochism.

Internet rumors have also brought some other actors into the mix as some Christian Steele favorites, which also include the likes of White Collar's Matt Bomer, Vampire Diaries' Ian Somerhalder and Man of Steel's Henry Cavill.

Up until this point, E.L. James and the producers attached to the future film have remained tight-lipped on the casting process.  Only time will tell who ultimately ends up with the highly-coveted roles of Christian Grey and Anastasia Steele.
