Sorry, Marvelites; Bruce Banner will not hulk out in Captain America: Civil War.

Despite rumors to the contrary, neither Hulk (Mark Ruffalo) nor Thor (Chris Hemsworth) will get the chance to weigh in on the Sokovia Accords. The events of The Avengers: Age of Ultron sent the God of Thunder back to Asgard while leaving Hulk's fate up in the air. There's a time and a place to discuss Banner's disappearance, and Civil War does not fit the bill.

"Mark Ruffalo shot no scenes. We talked about having Bruce Banner at the very end of the film, and it just, again, seemed like we're sticking people in just to stick them in," writer Christopher Markus told Huffpost Entertainment. "He has clearly gone somewhere at the end of Ultron, and that's a story. Don't blow it off and put it in a little tiny chunk just to put in a little extra filigree on our movie. That's a story."

That's not to say superhero fans won't be well and truly spoiled when Civil War hits theaters. Not only will the film feature Caps (Chris Evans), the Winter Soldier (Sebastian Stan), Black Widow (Scarlet Johansson), Flacon (Anthony Mackie), Iron Man (Robert Downey, Jr.), Ant-Man (Paul Rudd), Vision (Paul Bettany), Scarlet Witch (Elizabeth Olsen), War Machine (Don Cheadle), and Hawkeye (Jeremy Renner), but the May release will also introduce Black Panther (Chadwick Boseman) and a new iteration of Peter Parker's Spiderman (Tom Holland).

If Hulk won't feature in the post-credits scene, who will? The Avengers: Age of Ultron did not feature one of Marvel's signature stings, but we're hoping Civil War's final moments will help set up either Doctor Strange or Thor: Ragnarok. The studio has yet to start filming Hemsworth's third solo outing, but Captain America: Winter Soldier managed to bring fans footage of Age of Ultron's Quicksilver and Scarlet Witch long before principal photography began on the latter.
