Royce da 5'9" has been through a lot of frightening moments in his life, but he couldn't have made it through without the help of Eminem.

According to Tuesday's report from MTV, the two rappers are close friends who have had their own shares of trouble. Royce apparently had an addiction to alcohol that he is still recovering from. Things seemed to get out of control with the loss of relationships as well as DUI's. So eventually the rapper did what he could and asked for help.

"Eminem helped me all the way through," Royce said. "He was one of the first people I called. I let him know I needed help. I came back to Detroit and he, Tracy McNew and Paul Rosenberg at Shady Records checked me into this hospital and I went and saw Em's doctor. It was an impatient thing, where they monitored me while I slept, with IV's in me to make sure I didn't succumb to alcohol withdrawal symptoms and that I could sleep right."

After spending some time there, the rapper made sure he took the next steps to get back on his feet again.

"I stayed in there for a few days and when I got out, I immediately started seeing my therapist, who I still see to this day," Royce said.

Royce seems to have a really close bond with Eminem since he knows what he's like behind social media. In fact, the rapper dished to Hip Hop N More on why it's best "The Real Slim Shady" singer doesn't go online that much.

"It's probably a good idea that he's not on Twitter," Royce said. "He will say the most insane things you've ever read in your life because he is very, very, very crazy. People think that he's all serious now, but that's so far from the truth."
