A lot more is known about the plot and storyline of Jason Bourne, with the release of two trailers for the film and revelations made by Matt Damon and director Paul Greengrass in various interviews.

The trailers reveal that there is going to be a great deal of spectacular action sequences and an incredible chase scene. Speaking at the recently held CinemaCon, producer Frank Marshal revealed that the chase scene set in Athens is "the best Bourne chase scene ever."

In a recent interview with Entertainment Weekly, Damon, who plays the titular character, and Greengrass dished about the pivotal scene which is going to set the tone for the movie.

"It's the kind of action sequence you can only see in a Bourne movie," Greengrass said. "It marries action with a really intense, emotionally truthful next chapter in the Jason Bourne story."

Damon actually gave the publication some context on how the storyline leads to the chase. The scene portrays a chase scene during an austerity riot in Athens, wherein Bourne will be reunited with Nicky (Julia Stiles).

"Life out in the cold isn't working for either of them," Damon said. "Nicky uses the riot for cover to meet with him, but she gets followed, and that sets the plot in motion."

In another interview with Entertainment Weekly, Greengrass spoke about returning to the franchise and what fans can expect from Jason Bourne.

"He's been in the shadows of Europe," Greengrass said.

Additionally Greengrass assures fans that Bourne was not on holiday.

"He's been active and he's been doing hard physical work," Greengrass added. "Definitely not sunning himself on the beach."

The latest trailer for the film which was unveiled at CinemaCon, promises a whole lot of intrigue and also reveals much more about the plot of Jason Bourne.

The trailer starts with Bourne (Matt Damon) holed up in a dingy room in some remote part of the world, lying on a bed staring up as slowly his memory is revived, and things start to come back to him. He is seen having flashbacks--scenes from past movies--with closeups of his dog tag, and him being interrogated in brightly lit confines. "I know who I am," Bourne's voiceover is heard.

"I remember, I remember everything," Bourne says.

"You might remember everything but you don't know everything," Nicky Parsons (Julia Stiles) tells him.

The two meet at an austerity riot in Athens, where it has been revealed that Nicky emerges to reunite with Bourne. As the clip progresses, the CIA is seen tracking the duo and using facial recognition technology to nail Bourne and Parsons. Tommy Lee Jones is also seen in the clip as the CIA honcho wondering the reason behind Bourne's return. A whole lot of pyrotechnics and action sequences follow.

Jason Bourne will release on July 29, 2016.
