A brand new still shot from Marvel's upcoming blockbuster Thor: The Dark World has recently surfaced, and it features lead actor Chris Hemsworth (Thor) with a hammer in hand as the God of Thunder.

On Thursday, Entertainment Weekly posted the high quality picture on its site.

In the first installment of Thor, the thunder-summoning god had been sent to Earth to learn the trait of humanity. However, he still currently finds himself struggling with the balance between his obligations as a leader and protector.

"I would say there's a question of what happens when you're now seemingly ready for something, but don't necessarily want it anymore.   That's part of his internal struggle," Marvel Kevin Feige, the President of Production at Marvel told the website.

The flick's sequel will focus more around Asgard, as Thor will bring Jane (Natalie Portman) there to ensure her safety when life on the human planet becomes extremely dangerous.

The main antagonist in the second movie will be the likes of Malekith the Accursed (Christopher Eccleston), who is a sorcerer in charge of the dark elves.

In the Thor comic books, the respective character aligned with Thor's troubled brother Loki, played by Tom Hiddleston in the films.

Thor: The Dark World is set to make its big screen premiere on Nov. 8. Keep checking back for more details on the future superhero movie.
