Google would finally release Android 7.1.2 Nougat to public on April 3.This final version of Android 7.1.2 Nougat Update comes approximately after six weeks of the initial release of the beta version to a handful of Nexus devices and both the Pixel phones.

As mentioned in Express, Google's seventh major version of Android operating system Android Nougat was released as the beta version on March 9, 2016, followed by its first official release on August 22, 2016, with Nexus devices to first to receive the update and LG V20 to be the first Smartphone to release with Nougat. But then a significant update in the form of Android 7.1 Nougat occurred in October with the launch of Google Pixel and Pixel XL smartphones. Reports from Android Central states that VP of Android Dave Burke mentioned in his initial blog post in January that the company is getting ready for a public release of Android 7.1.2 Nougat Update within a couple of months after its initial unveiling which works out to be the end of March or beginning of April.

A reinforcing report strengthening the timeline affirmed by Android VP was seen for Canada's biggest carrier - Roger who announced an update for its Pixel units which are bringing VoLTE support along with the latest requisite security updates, on April 3. Rogers had been testing VoLTE which allows users to make phone calls using their Internet connection rather than relying on phone signal on Pixel and Pixel devices using Android 7.1.2 Nougat beta. Rogers Announcement does not confirm Google's plan to initiate the Android 7.1.2 Nougat Update around the same. However, it seems the tech giant is most likely to roll out the update in the beginning of April around the time when it usually releases security bulletins, OTA images, and factory images every month.

WCCFTECH also affirms that though this is an incremental update but for Pixel users on Rogers will be having much needed VoLTE support that will enable voice calling. It is mentioned that Google previously used to release preview build after beta releases but then after Nougat they have been avoiding the process and jumping to final builds instead. According to Google's chart, only 0.4% are running Android 7.1.2 Nougat. The users without Nexus or Pixel handsets will have to patiently wait until Google allows Android 7.1.2 Nougat Update in rest devices.
