Is Selena Gomez Attempting To Reconcile With Her Mom Amid Justin Bieber Feud?

Selena Gomez may be reaching out to her mother, Mandy Teefey, in hopes of reconciling their relationship.

As rumors continue to suggest that Gomez and Teefey are at odds due to Gomez's recent reunion with her on-again, off-again boyfriend, Justin Bieber, the 25-year-old "Wolves" singer has changed her Instagram profile photo to one of her mother and returned to the home in Grand Prairie, Texas, where she grew up.

On Jan. 7, Hollywood Life told readers that Gomez had revamped her Instagram account with her mother's photo, which may be her way of begging her mother to make peace. The outlet also revealed that Gomez unfollowed a ton of people, including her assistant, Theresa Mingus, singer Demi Lovato, and her boyfriend, Justin Bieber, and is now following just 37 people.

As for who is included in her selected 37 people, Gomez is still following a number of fan accounts and several other celebrities, including Amy Schumer, Taylor Swift, Jessica Alba, and Francia Raisa.

Gomez and Teefey were first rumored to have had a falling out weeks after Gomez and Bieber's late October reunion. Since then, Gomez has been to Texas to visit home numerous times, and each time she's been in town, Bieber has been nowhere in sight. That said, Gomez has been spending time with Bieber. Last week, they celebrated the New Year in Mexico together along with several friends.

In addition to rumors of a feud between Gomez and Teefey, there have also been reports claiming Teefey and Pattie Mallette, the mother of Bieber, will soon meet to discuss their rekindled romance.

Teefey “wants Selena to move on from Justin,” a source revealed to Life & Style magazine on Dec. 29, adding that Mallette is on the other side of the spectrum and “has been pushing Justin to pop the question!”

While a meeting between the two families could prove to be beneficial to Gomez and Bieber's future, the source suspected that the two women could come to blows over their differing opinions of the couple's romance.

“People in Mandy’s camp are saying it could get real ugly,” the insider continued of Teefey's reportedly impending meeting with Bieber's mom. “Mandy says Justin is trouble and immature, and she wants to knock some sense into Pattie and tell her their kids are better off apart.”
