On Tuesday, Kim Kardashian and Kanye West confirmed the arrival of their third child via surrogate, a baby girl, who weighed in at 7 pounds and 6 ounces. 

In October 2017, Kardashian confirmed during the trailer for the new season of Keeping Up With the Kardashians that the couple were having another child.

Kardashian has always been open about her pregnancy issues. Doctors had told Kim that it would be risky for her to get pregnant again because she has placenta accreta, leading her to use a surrogate for her third child.

The KKW Beauty founder took to her official website to confirm the news. Kardashian posted a heartfelt letter that stated how overjoyed she and Kanye are to officially welcome their baby to their family. The reality star shared the news with fans on Tuesday, but the couple actually welcomed their baby girl on Monday at 12:47 a.m. 

This will make baby number three and the second girl for the couple as they are already parents to 4-year-old North West and 2-year-old Saint West. 

Although Kardashian wanted to keep the gender of their newest bundle of joy a secret, she accidentally revealed the news while appearing on The Ellen DeGeneres Show. 

Kardashian told DeGeneres that after hosting her cherry blossom-themed baby shower, North opened up all of the gifts for their baby girl and wanted to keep them in her room. 

"Mom, since baby sister's is not here, I think I need all of her toys in my room and I'll play with them and just make sure they're all okay for baby sister," Kardashian said. 

During her interview with DeGeneres, Kardashian also stated that she and Kanye were struggling with a baby name and asked for suggestions at their baby shower. Kardashian still hasn't revealed the name for the newest member of the West family.

Kardashian and West got engaged in October 2013 and officially tied knot in Florence, Italy, in May 2014. The couple welcomed their first child North West in June 2013 and their second child Saint West in December 2015.
