Brad Pitt is trying his best to get back to normal in spite of what's going on in his personal life.

The 54-year-old actor has called it quits with his wife, actress Angelina Jolie, but now the actor is ready to move forward as the two prepare to make their separation official.

The Allied actor was seen during Oscars weekend where he made a surprise visit at a party thrown by talent agency Gersh Agency. Sources close to Pitt state that he is more himself now and is "out of the dark place" he was in after he and Jolie separated.

"The separation was very dark for him, but lately he looks healthier and happier. He seems excited about life," a source close to the actor stated.

The actor even joked with Girls Trip star, Tiffany Haddish, about "getting together" if the two are still single in another year. Pitt also partied with Oscar winners Allison Janney and Sam Rockwell.

Brad and Angelina's Romance Gone Wrong

Jolie filed for divorce from Pitt in September 2016. Reports stated that Pitt's drinking habits and alleged abusive behavior toward the children  led to the couple's decision to separate.

The former couple were together for seven years before becoming engaged. They met while filming the action film, Mr. and Mrs. Smith. At the time, Pitt was still married to his first wife, Friends actress Jennifer Aniston. Aniston and Pitt separated in January 2005 before finally divorcing in October 2005.

Rumors spread that Pitt's involvement with Jolie was what led to his divorce from Aniston. Jolie never confirmed nor denied this but did claim that they "fell in love" with each other while on set.

On Jan. 11, 2006, Jolie confirmed that she was pregnant with Pitt's child, which served as their public acknowledgement of their relationship for the first time. Jolie gave birth to the couple's first biological child together, Shiloh, in May 2016. In July 2008, Jolie gave birth to their twins, Knox and Vivienne.

Pitt and Jolie announced their engagement in April 2012 and were married on August 23, 2014, in a private ceremony in Château Miraval, France.
