Pamela Gidley, star of Twin Peaks prequel Fire Walk With Me, is dead. She died peacefully at the age of 52 according to her family.

Death

Gidley succumbed to death from unknown causes at her home in Seabrook, New Hampshire on April 16. A spokesman for the Remick & Gendron Funeral Home in Hampton, New Hampshire did not give information but forwarded a request for details about the actress's death to her family.

Gidley's death did not make headlines earlier this month. The public only learned about her passing through an obituary made by her family and published on Sunday.

Career

Gidley was a model in New York before she embarked on an acting career. She landed her first movie role in the 1986 American skater drama film Thrashin' where she acted alongside Josh Brolin (Avengers: Infinity War) and Sherilyn Fenn (Boxing Helena). She played a character named Chrissy. Brolin has paid tribute to Gidley in an Instagram post.

"My co-star in Thrashin and my girlfriend twice in a lifetime. Amazing and innocent memories of her: a spitfire, and a truly funny person she was. I remember is being in bed (I was 17) and hearing the radio come on saying that the Challenger had just exploded. These milestones in your life: amazing people to grace us with their spirit, their presence. She will have forever affected mine. Thank you for the gift of you, Pam. Rest In Peace beautiful girl," Brolin wrote alongside a portrait of a young Gidley.

Gidley's other film credits included the 1980s films Permanent Record, the cult sci-fi classic Cherry 2000, and The Blue Iguana. She landed the role of Teresa Banks in David Lynch's psychological thriller Twin Peaks: Fire Walk With Me in 1992, which is the prequel to the Twin Peaks TV series. She then went on to appear in several other films including Kiss & Tell and in the comedy horror Aberration, which she played a starring role.

The Massachusetts-born Gidley also appeared in the 2000 family comedy The Little Vampire and her last movie role in the 2005 comedy Cake Boy, where she portrayed the role of Becky.

As for TV appearances, Gidley starred in the original MacGyver series. She also had a recurring role as Brigette Parker in The Pretender and as Teri Miller in CSI: Crime Scene Investigation.

Gidley is survived by her mother, Phyllis and brothers Glenn, Brian, and Daniel; sister-in-law Darlene; and nieces and nephews Erica, Alexis, Adam, and Keegan.
