Ben Affleck and Jennifer Garner continue to make an example for divorced couples everywhere. The exes go out on a family outing with their kids.

Putting Family First

According to several sources, Affleck and Garner took their children to see Hello, Dolly! in New York City on Thursday, as well as having dinner as a family. Garner's Alias co-star Victor Garber stars in the new Broadway production.

According to an onlooker, the whole family appeared to be in good spirits throughout the night.

"Jen and Ben both appeared to be really happy. They were laughing and smiling throughout the show and at intermission, and engaging with the kids. Some fans said hello and they were both really kind," claimed an eyewitness.

The co-parenting team has been in a good place following their difficult breakup, as Garner told CBS Sunday Morning in a recent, wide-ranging interview. The actress opened up about the pressure that press intrusion put on her relationship with the Justice League star.

"Looking back on that, I really feel the stress of it. ... I could cry talking about it. What I think I've learned is that the scrutiny in your private life puts a pressure to make something happen. ... And that's true in the reverse, as well. ... If there is any inkling of trouble, or if the tabloids decide there's trouble, it can create trouble," she explained.

The two were married for a decade before separating in 2015 amid reports that Affleck had an affair with their nanny. He has since found love with Saturday Night Live producer Lindsay Shookus with whom he's been involved for about a year.

Focusing On The Future

The couple has three children together, namely Violet, 12, Seraphina, 9, and Samuel, 6. They have remained on good terms that Garner even posted a sweet Father's Day message to Affleck earlier this year.

The Justice League star is committed to spending as much time as possible with his children, something the couple has been focused on ever since their shock split.

She was very honest with Vanity Fair back in 2016 about how difficult it was to move on from the high-profile relationship.

"He's the love of my life. What am I going to do about that? He's the most brilliant person in any room, the most charismatic, the most generous. He's just a complicated guy," Garner admitted in the interview.

The actress is set to return to TV shortly in upcoming HBO comedy series Camping courtesy of Girls co-creators Lena Dunham and Jenni Konner. Affleck, meanwhile, is busy playing Batman in DC's dark cinematic universe.
