When Justin Timberlake released his single, Take Back the Nighton Friday, he had no idea an organization with the same name even existed. At least, that's what he claims.

"Upon the release of my new single Take Back The Night, I was made aware of an organization of the same name called The Take Back The Night Foundation...I wanted to take this opportunity to let all know that neither my song nor its lyrics have any association with the organization," Timberlake said in a statement obtained by RadarOnline.

Even though he just recently heard about the organization, he took the time to learn about its goals and shared his support.

"As I've learned more about The Take Back The Night Foundation, I'm moved by its efforts to stop violence against women, create safe communities and encourage respectful relationships for women - Something we all should rally around," he said.

Before the release of the single, the sexual assault awareness organization threatened legal action over the permission needed to use the same title.

"We tried to contact him through his website and got no answer...Then we sent him a letter Friday from our legal counsel saying 'You used our name without our permission,'" Take Back the Night Foundation Executive Director Katherine Koestner told RadarOnline.

It's not just the name that is a bother to the organization, it's also the fact that the title has a whole new definition on Wikipedia -- and it doesn't involve their message.

"The lyrics are definitely very sexual and not at all clearly anti-sexual violence," she added. "'Use me,' for example, is not a great phrase for anyone affiliated with the organization."
