Avid watchers were shaken after spotting Denver Broncos Quarterback Teddy Bridgewater was sent to the hospital after a shocking injury during their Sunday's loss to the Cincinnati Bengals.

According to ESPN's report, the Broncos QB will be spending overnight in a Denver-area Broncos quarterback Teddy Bridgewater will remain overnight in a Denver-area hospital after badly suffering during the third quarter of the game.

The 29-year-old suffered an injury while diving for a first down with 5:34 remaining in the quarter, leading him to land facedown on the field and unable to move initially. The Broncos' coach, Vic Fangio, admitted that he would go through overnight "observation" and had movement in all extremes.

The source was also able to report a statement from Fangio saying, "Everything has checked out good up to this point. They think he should be and will be fine." When the coach was asked about the athlete's sustained concussion, he was able to answer, "[I] haven't heard it labeled that, but I'm sure it probably is."

The Broncos' medical staff held Bridgewater's head motionless as it turned him over and strapped him to a backboard before taking him off the field on a cart.

"We you see a guy like Teddy go down, that hurts, man," said Broncos safety Justin Simmons. "We know what Teddy puts into it, he's such a big voice in our locker room, it hurts, obviously, from a football standpoint, it hurts as a leader, but just as a friend, a guy that invests into you so much, it hurts to see."

Bridgewater During The Season

The publisher noted that Bridgewater became a part of the 14 Broncos games this season. He left Denver's Week 4 loss to the Baltimore Ravens just before halftime with a concussion.

 
The quarterback was also recognized to have thrown for a career-best 18 touchdowns and was poised to set a single-season best for passing yards.

As of writing, there are still no updates regarding his return to the game, as Fangio said it was too soon to know Bridgewater's availability into the week or for the next round where they face Las Vegas Raiders.

As reported by Fox News, Drew Lock came into the game to replace Bridgewater at quarterback.
