Paul Herman, "The Sopranos" and "The Irishman" actor, has died. He was 76.

Herman left his family and fans devastated as he passed away on his 76th birthday. His supposed celebration turned into a celebration of life as his management company confirmed the news.

In a statement with Entertainment Weekly, a representative from his agency asked for privacy as the actor's family deals with the darkest time in their life.

"He will be deeply missed by all who knew him, and we will always remember the sound of his laughter and bold spirit," the representative said. "We ask that you respect the privacy of the family at this time."

Michael Imperioli also shared the tragic news on his Instagram page, sharing a photo of the late actor and a lengthy tribute message to him.

He added that he would miss his "The Sopranos" co-star but also expressed how lucky he was to spend some time with Herman before his death.

Paul Herman's cause of death remains unknown as of press time. Multiple news outlets also noted that there has been no reported illness before his death.

Paul Herman's Legacy Revisited

Herman started his acting career in 1982 by playing Hesh's role in "Dear Mr. Wonderful." Since then, he started building his over 60 movies and series credits.

Throughout his active years, Herman started in other movies, including "The Squeeze," "Next of Kin," "Heat," "Fathers' Day," "Analyze That," and "The Irishman."

His role in 2013, "American Hustle," pushed him to win the Screen Actors Guild Award for Outstanding Performance by a Cast in a Motion Picture.

From 2012 to 2015, he landed on three of David O. Russell's films - "Silver Linings Playbook," "American Hustle," and "Joy."

Herman's long list of credits caught many people's attention, that his passing left his fans extremely heartbroken. On Twitter, his supporters expressed their heartbreaks after losing the renowned star.

One said, "Sad to hear about the passing of Paul Herman on his 76th birthday. He of course played Beansie on The Sopranos as well as various other acting roles. Rest in peace x."

His family is yet to release details about his funeral. They also have not shared a statement to address Paul Herman's death.
