Marcel the Shell with Shoes On is finally getting the film adaptation it deserves.

The iconic Jenny Slate, who recently starred in the film I Want You Back, is returning to one of her first projects in a major way. Marcel the Shell with Shoes On was an early 2010s YouTube series about a small, precotious little shell with shoes on. The shell was voiced by Slate and was met with the approval of millions of viewers around the world. If you were in High School at the time of this release, we know there was a tiem when every conversation contained a quote from this hilariously heartwarming series.

Now, Marcel the Shell is ready to get her due. A24 is adapting the well-loved YouTube series into a full length film, which has us all head-over-heels with nostalgia feels. While the series showed Marcel embarking on a variety of small adventures and commenting wittily on the giant world around her, this film is sure to bring everyone's favorite shell onto an even larger stage.

Watching the new trailer, those that fell in love with the original videos will not be disappointed. The structure of the show follows the documentary-style videos that made the shell famous. In this film, the two inch tall force is setting about on a quest to find her family. While still sharing her witty views on the world she embarks on a quest to fill the hole in her heart where her family should be, using every part of her to make an impact heard around the world. (We're not crying, YOU'RE crying.)
