Johnny Depp and his team did the best thing to call ex-TMZ employee Morgan Tremaine as the actor's rebuttal witness.

Depp secured a win after judge Penney Azcarate ruled against TMZ and allowed its former field assignment manager, Morgan Tremaine, to testify in the defamation trial.

Thus, on Wednesday, Tremaine took the stand and offered an epic response to Amber Heard's lawyer, Elaine Bredehoft, making Depp and his team laugh.

Ex-TMZ Employee Morgan Tremaine Grilled Elaine Bredehoft Instead

Tremaine worked for the news website from 2015 to 2017. TMZ published the shocking video of Depp and Heard when they employed him.

The Aug. 12, 2016 article, titled "Johnny Depp Goes Off on Amber Heard, Hurls Wine Glass" shows the same kitchen video the "Aquaman" actress presented as proof to the court. The clip in question shows the actor slamming cupboards and then immediately looking shocked after discovering Heard had been filming him.

It is worth noting that Heard testified that she did not receive payment from TMZ for the video since she "had nothing to do with that."

But Tremaine, who voluntarily appeared before the court, ultimately debunked her previous statement and said he received a Dropbox link through an e-mail that had the same video. He testified that they were told to take the video and put the watermark on it to make it look like TMZ directly recorded it.

Thus, Amber Heard was the copyright owner of the TMZ video.

During the cross-examination, Bredehoft accused him of using the trial to gain fame, which he dismissed before offering an epic comeback.

"I'm not seeking any 15 minutes of fame, though you're welcome to speculate. I could say the same thing about taking Amber Heard as a client, for you," he said, adding, "Oh, hardly. I find that to be purely logical thinking."

His last statement, as seen on a video, shocked Depp and his team again, and it eventually made them laugh as Tremaine instantly roasted Bredehoft.
