Cole Sprouse and Kathryn Newton are set to star in a new film, titled Lisa Frankenstein

Kathryn Newton and Cole Sprouse are officially teaming up for a new project. Today, in an exclusive from Deadline, it was announced that the two actors would be leading a new film titled Lisa Frankenstein. The movie is being produced by Focus.

Zelda Williams - daughter of the incomparable Robin Williamsis set to direct this film. This is the first feature-length film that Williams has ever directed. Her acting and directing resume speaks for itself; We are confident that she is ready to take on this challenge.

Furthermore, we have faith in the experienced support system that has been assembled to create this excellent team. The Oscar nominated screenwriter, Diablo Cody, will write the script for this movie. Cody will also be working as a producer, as will a talent she is no stranger to working with: Mason Novick.

Diablo Cody and Mason Novick have previously worked together on various incredibly successful projects, including Tully, Young Adult, Jennifer's Body, and Juno. If that resume proves anything, it certainly promises that we can let our hopes be high for Lisa Frankenstein.

According to Deadline, the film will bring us back to high school in the 90s. The description reads:

"Set in 1989, the film follows an unpopular high schooler who accidentally re-animates a handsome Victorian corpse during a lightning storm and starts to rebuild him into the man of her dreams using the broken tanning bed in her garage."

We will keep you up to date on all things Lisa Frankenstein as they come to light.
