Pre-production on Man of Steel 2, a.k.a. Batman vs. Superman, has begun at the film's Michigan location.

The Detroit Free Press via ComicBookMovie is reporting that pre-production is underway for Man of Steel 2 in Michigan.

Michigan Motion Picture Studios in Pontiac, Mi. will be hosting production on Man of Steel 2, using all seven of the complex's soundstages. Production will occupy the complex through Aug. 2014.

Director Zack Snyder will be shooting scenes at the Pontiac studio in addition to using locations throughout the state.

"This project will employ more Michigan residents than any other film project has ever employed in the state of Michigan," said Michigan Motion Picture Studios COO Anthony Wenson.

Game of Thrones Star Joins Cast of Batman vs. Superman? 

While many publications have used Man of Steel 2 or Batman vs. Superman as titles for the movie, it is actually still untitled. However, Warner Bros. has registered several possible titles for the highly anticipated film, including:

Man of Steel: Battle the Knight

Man of Steel: Beyond Darkness

Man of Steel: Black of Knight

Man of Steel: Darkness Falls

Man of Steel: Knight Falls

Man of Steel: Shadow of the Night

Man of Steel: The Blackest Hour

Man of Steel: The Darkness Within

Considering how many of these titles mention darkness and night, the film will likely be darker in tone. The film features Ben Affleck making his debut appearance as Batman vs. Superman's Henry Cavill. Fast & Furious actress Gal Gadot is also starring in the film as Wonder Woman.

Man of Steel 2 Rumors : Superman & Wonder Woman in a Relationship? 

Man of Steel 2 is scheduled for release in theaters on July 17, 2015.
