"The Hunger Games" star Jennifer Lawrence was a hero in real-life yesterday.

Like her on-screen character "Katniss Everdeen" in the blockbuster film, the Oscar nominee reportedly saved a young woman she found passed out on the sidewalk yesterday. The 21-year-old was standing outside her apartment complex in Santa Monica when a woman walking past suddenly collapsed on the grass.

Local police told E! News that they received a call about a passed out woman from a neighbor and confirmed that the Oscar nominee was with the sick woman and stayed with her until paramedics arrived. Casually dressed in a tank top and sweatpants to walk her dog with an unknown male friend, Lawrence can be seen in photos here getting down on the ground and remaining calm. The photo is reminiscent of her movie character "Katniss" who came to the aid of a little girl from another district in the blockbuster film.

Local police also confirmed that a group of six police officers and a paramedic turned up to assist the woman who reportedly did not have to be rushed to the hospital. She was given the all-clear by medical staff who believe that alcohol may have played a part in her collapse.

After her heroics, Lawrence later changed from her casual getup into a sexy black backless gown for dinner. Way to go Jennifer!
