Miley Cyrus Speaks About Engagement in Marie Claire September Issue, Says Liam Proposed at Home
Miley Cyrus opened up about her engagement to Australian actor Liam Hemsworth on Marie Claire's September Issue revealing that when he popped the question it was a "complete surprise."
Cyrus, 19, told the magazine that Hemsworth proposed to her at the home they live together in California and that nor she or her parents saw it coming.
"I had no input," Cyrus said in the interview when asked about her engagement ring, according to a preview of the issue published Monday.
"We'd been kind of talking about [getting engaged], and I saw something like it online at one point and thought it was really pretty, but I usually wear rose gold. I just love that it's old and has a story. And I'm happy because it doesn'tlook like anything else I wear," she added.
Cyrus didn't gave more details about how Hemsworth proposed but she addressed critics who claim she is too young to marry.
"Life is too short not to be with the person you want to be with. I don't really care about the wedding or the piece of paper as much as I do the promise we've made to each other. And we want to have a long engagement," she told the magazine.
Finally, she talked about her relationship with "The Hunger Games" actor.
"Liam and I have a really good relationship . . . neither of us is superjealous. We know each other and would never do anything to hurt each other," she said.
