Dylan O'Brien is out of commission for the foreseeable future.

The actor suffered an onset injury while filming for The Maze Runner: The Death Cure in mid-March, and, despite hopeful rumors to the contrary, O'Brien is not quite ready to step back in front of the cameras.

O'Brien's Death Cure costar Giancarlo Esposito previously told E! Online filming would resume on May 15, but Fox announced an "indefinite" delay over the weekend.

"The resumption of principal photography on Maze Runner: The Death Cure has been further delayed to allow Dylan O'Brien more time to fully recover from his injuries," 20th Century Fox announced on Friday. "We wish Dylan a speedy recovery and look forward to restarting production as soon as possible."

The Teen Wolf star is currently recuperating from a "concussion, facial fracture and lacerations" he incurred when a motorcycle stunt went awry. Despite the unfortunate incident and continued delays, fans should in no way misconstrue this announcement as a sign that the final piece of the trilogy is headed for the movie graveyard. The Maze Runner author James Dashner took to Twitter to assuage any fears.

It is currently unknown how O'Brien's injury will affect Death Cure's Feb. 17 release date or filming for Teen Wolf season 6.
