Brad Pitt is preparing to return to his career in Hollywood and as he does, he's said to be missing his six kids, including 16-year-old Maddox, 13-year-old Pax, 12-year-old Zahara, 11-year-old Shiloh, and nine-year-old twins Vivienne and Knox.

According to a new report, Pitt is heading back to work for the first time since he and his now-estranged wife, Angelina Jolie, called it quits on their marriage after just two years.

“Brad has begun his first really big project since his marriage fell apart last year and the new experience is bittersweet,” a source told Hollywood Life on August 30. “He is so happy to be an independent actor again, collaborating with the other actors on set and meshing with the director. For many years he suffered Angelina’s constant advice, notes, and often unsolicited opinions about his work.”

Pitt and Jolie tied the knot at their home in France in August 2014. As fans will recall, the couple first sparked a romance on the set of 2005's Mr. & Mrs. Smith when Pitt was still married to Jennifer Aniston.

“Brad may miss Angelina, a little bit, but now that he is back on set, he does not miss her constant criticism,” the insider added. “Now that Brad is back to work and the daily grind of filming on set, he misses coming home to his family. Brad has been dealing with his breakup for over a year now and has put off going back to work. He has needed time and space to heal from the horrible separation from his family. Now that he has finally decided to return to work, he is reminded of how lonely his life has become.”
