Blake Lively Injured On Set: ‘Rhythm Section’ Filming Suspended
Production For 'The Rhythm Section' Gets Suspended
Lively has not commented regarding the incident, but Paramount and Global Road have already released an official statement, announcing the suspension of the filming.
"Filming has been temporarily suspended on The Rhythm Section as Blake Lively sustained an injury to her hand whilst filming an action sequence. Production will resume as soon as possible," read the statement.
Lively plays the role of Stephanie Patrick, a woman seeking revenge against the people who orchestrated a plane crash that killed her entire family. A journalist tells her that the crash was an act of terror covered up by intelligence agencies.
Later on, Stephanie learns that the journalist who exposed the truth to her has been killed. This encourages her to uncover the truth and track down those who are responsible for the crash by adopting the identity of an assassin.
Other cast members include Daniel Mays as Dean West, Nasser Memarzia as Suleman Kaif, Ivana Basic as Oksana, and more. The film is directed by Reed Morano and written by Mark Burnell.
The Rhythm Section is slated to hit theaters on Feb. 22, 2019. As of late, it is still unclear whether or not Lively's injury will affect the film's release date.
