Harry Styles replaced James Corden as the host of The Late Late Show on Tuesday, Dec. 12, while the comedian was by his wife's side.

Harry Styles As The Host Of 'The Late Late Show'

The former One Direction member took over as the host of the CBS talk show after Corden's wife, Julia Carey, went into labor on Tuesday.

The 23-year-old started off his hosting duties with the announcement that Corden and Carey were blessed with a beautiful baby daughter just half an hour ago.

The Dunkirk star then went on to crack several jokes at the expense of the show's original host, saying that he was just at the hospital before arriving on the set and found that the baby looks very much like Corden, because "James looks like a giant baby."

Styles looked quite comfortable while hosting the talk show, which featured Owen Wilson, Jane Krakowski and Joel Edgerton as guests. The "Sign of the Times" singer said he was only given a two and a half hour notice to replace Corden as the show's host.

"I was sitting at home two hours ago in this suit, obviously," he said."I got the call Jules was going into labor so James naturally called the funniest man he knew... he obviously wasn't available."

This isn't the first time Styles has hosted The Late Late Show. The actor/singer took charge of the show in May before a weeklong residency, during which he performed a new song from his self-titled debut album every night.

Styles Addresses His Surprise Kiss With Corden

Styles also addressed the surprise kiss he gave Corden on his Christmas-themed Carpool Karaoke segment that aired the previous night. I would like to take the opportunity to announce that... we will also be having a baby," he exclaimed.

Corden, 39, put together a video montage of stars who featured on the immensely popular segment this year as they sing along to Mariah Carey's cover of "Santa Claus Is Comin to Town."

These include the likes of likes of Katy Perry, Ed Sheeran, Kelly Clarkson, Miley Cyrus, Bruno Mars, The Foo Fighters, Usher, Pink, Sam Smith and Fifth Harmony but the highlight of the clip was when Styles locked lips with Corden even though there was no mistletoe in sight.

Corden And Carey Welcome Their Third Child

Corden took to Twitter on Tuesday to announce that he and Carey, whom he married in 2012, are proud parents of a baby girl and also thanked Styles for filling in for him on the show. The couple share two more children; a six-year-old son named Max and three-year-old daughter, Carey. Check out Corden's baby announcement below:
