New York City's The Governors Ball has released their 2018 lineup. A diverse group of artists is expected to rock the Big Apple.

Eminem Reigns Supreme

Detroit rap icon Eminem is expected to headline the Governors Ball. This announcement comes days after Slim Shady was named as a coheadliner for the 2018 Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival. The rapper will be coheadlining the concert series with Beyonce and The Weeknd. A few months after Eminem closes down the California music festival, the "My Name Is" rapper will travel to New York to participate at the Governors Ball. Recently, Eminem dropped his latest studio album, Revival. The album featured several all-star collaborations including "Walk on Water" with Beyonce, "River" with Ed Sheeran, and "Need Me" with P!nk. The 2018 Governors Ball will also mark Eminem's first time headlining the New York outdoor concert in eight years.

Hip-Hop Rules

The 2018 Governors Ball will feature a plethora of hip-hop artists. Travis Scott, who has been in the tabloids for his relationship with Kylie Jenner, is expected to join Eminem, rocker Jack White, and New York City-based indie rock band the Yeah Yeah Yeahs as the coheadliners. Legendary hip-hop rock group N.E.R.D. are expected to make an appearance.

Made up of Pharrell Williams, Chad Hugo, and Shay Haley, the trio's performance will mark N.E.R.D.'s first New York City performance since 2010. Other Hip-hop acts that are expected to make a splash this year include 2 Chainz, the Grammy Awards' Best New Artist nominee Lil Uzi Vert, and Belly.

Millennials Represent At Governors Ball

A diverse group of millennial talent is expected to take the Randall's Island Stage. Country singer-songwriter Margo Price, whose sophomore album All American Made was named one of Rolling Stone's favorite albums of 2017, will bring her intriguing sound to the Big Apple. Grammy Awards' Best New Artist nominee Khalid will join fellow R&B breakthrough acts such as Kelela and 6lack in the lineup. The pop-rock world is expected to be represented by singer-songwriters Halsey and Maggie Rogers, synth-pop group Chvrches, and indie rock group Wolf Alice.

Music Veterans Show Off

Music aficionados would be happy to see Third Eye Blind in the lineup. Also, the Gaslight Anthem will reunite to perform their entire album: The '59 Sound. Fan-favorite music producers Diplo and Mark Ronson are also expected to debut their new project, Silk City, at the event.

The 2018 Governors Ball Music Festival will take place on the weekend of June 1 through June 3.
