Magician David Copperfield is the latest entertainer to find himself in the ongoing sexual misconduct scandal. A former model accused Copperfield of drugging her.

A Dark Secret Revealed

The Wrap interviewed former teen model Brittney Lewis who revealed her dark encounter with the beloved Las Vegas entertainer 30 years ago. Lewis, 17 years old at that time, was a contestant in a beauty competition and Copperfield was one of the competition's judges. After the competition, Copperfield contacted Lewis and invited her to attend one of his California performances.

Despite being underage at the time of the invitation, Copperfield reassured Lewis's grandmother that he would take care of Lewis and that her granddaughter would be accompanied at all times. The magician also promised her that Lewis would not share the same hotel room with him.

Upon Lewis's arrival in the Golden State, Copperfield and his team gave her the VIP treatment. While Copperfield's generosity moved Lewis, Lewis told the magician that she was not looking at any romantic relationships.

However, Lewis's fantastic trip was about to take a turn for the worse as she noticed Copperfield pouring something into her drink.

"I asked, 'What are you doing?' and he said, 'Oh, I'm just sharing,'" Lewis told the publication.

After Lewis consumed her drink, she blacked out and woke up to a horrifying real-life nightmare. Copperfield took her clothes off, kissed her, and as he molested her, Lewis blacked out once again. The morning after the incident, Copperfield advised that it would be best for her to return home.

Old Wounds Reopen

19 years after the incident, Lewis watched Copperfield battle sexual assault allegations in 2007, however, all charges were dropped. Copperfield's legal drama reopened Lewis's wounds regarding her 1988 encounter.

Lewis initially told her grandmother, a longtime friend, her ex-husband, and current husband about the meeting. Lewis decided to report her claim to the FBI.

As Lewis's conversation with The Wrap was published, Copperfield released a statement regarding his feelings about the #MeToo Movement.

 Sexual Misconduct Hall Of Shame

Copperfield is not the only entertainer that has faced sexual misconduct allegations. On Jan. 18, writer Susan Braudy accused Oscar-winning actor Michael Douglas of sexual assault.

Braudy appeared on Today and graphically described the incident, which happened in the 1980s. Before the NBC morning newscast aired the interview, Douglas stated on Jan. 9 that he was being accused of sexual assault.

Also, actor-playwright Albert Schultz was forced to leave the Soulpepper Theatre Company after four actresses accused him of sexual misconduct. Schultz co-founded the North American theatre group in 1998.

TV personalities Charlie Rose, Matt Lauer, and Mario Batali also found themselves terminated by their respective television networks after sexual misconduct allegations surfaced.

The basis of this mass sexual misconduct scandal could be pointed to disgraced movie mogul Harvey Weinstein. Since his downfall, 84 women including Ashley Judd, Mina Sorvino, Rose McGowan, Angelina Jolie, and Salma Hayek have accused Weinstein of sexual misconduct.
