Did Apple Watts die after the horrifying car accident?

Watts' family delivered the most heartbreaking news yet as the reality TV star suffered life-threatening injuries after getting involved in a car accident in California. The responders were able to fly her to a hospital, where she was put on life support.

But hours after the accident, reports claiming that the "Love and Hip Hop" star already died continuously emerged.

On Twitter, several users wrote "Rest in Peace Apple Watts," with others saying that they found out that the family decided to pull the plug of her ventilator.

Unfortunately, the few tweets spread further and resulted in death hoaxes. More false details came out, including an assumption that she was already brain dead or that her family decided not to continue her life support due to the hospital bills.

But Watts' mother personally clarified the news and shared on her Facebook account that reality TV is still fighting for her life. She added that she is getting better since the tragic accident.

What Happened to Apple Watts?

On Wednesday, California Highway Patrol Officer Ramon Duran confirmed to PEOPLE that Watts was the one driving a black Mercedes that collided with a Ford F250 pickup truck.

The crash caused the 36-year-old's car to flip multiple times before bursting into flames. She was reportedly pulled from her car by a passenger in the pickup truck before the responders transported her to a University Medical Center in Las Vegas due to major injuries.

Initial reports said that the injuries left her in life support, resonating with her sister's exclusive statement to The Shade Room. She said that the "Love & Hip Hop" star was unresponsive after sustaining a broken spine, shattered arm, and a fractured skull.

Due to the injuries, the family is reportedly expecting her to face difficulties doing her usual routines like walking and feeding herself.

As of press time, the authorities are already investigating the incident. They have since ruled out drugs and alcohol as the cause of the crash.
