The Baba Yaga is coming back in March 2023! A new promotional image of the highly anticipated fourth installment of the John Wick series was on full display for patrons before the opening day of CinemaCon in Las Vegas this week.

Even though the film is slated for a far off March 24, 2023 release date, Lionsgate has already begun to tease fans of the Keanu Reeves action franchise. Mind you, the poster art doesn't give away any clues for what we can expect from the dog loving ex-gun-for-hire, now on the run from the secret society of assassins called The High Table. The poster simply shows Wick aiming a gun at an off camera target.

The film will still be directed by stuntman turned director Chad Stahelski, who has helmed the series from the beginning, though screenplay credits have changed hands. Writer Derek Kolstad has left the world of John Wick behind after an impressive run as the writer of the first three chapters, though he has written three episodes of the John Wick spin-off series The Continental, which revolves around the hotel that acts as a sort of sacred ground for the assassin community. The script for the unnamed John Wick Chapter 4 has been penned by Michael Finch (Predators) and Shay Hatten (Army of the Dead, Army of Thieves, John Wick Chapter 3: Parabellum).

When asked about the decision to leave the franchise, Kolstad told Collider,

"No, it wasn't my decision. When you think of the contractually of these things, the third one I shared the credit with any number of people, they didn't have to come back to me, and so they didn't. And so you look at that and you could be hurt, and I would say if I was 20 years ago I would have been, but seeing what the industry is and how things go, I just believe that you bless everything and hope it all the best, and to the players involved who are doing other things elsewhere. And yeah, it's personal, so I'm never going to talk shit about John Wick. I want this thing to survive and thrive."

Derek Kolstad has nothing to worry about after his impressively cool writing on the action film Nobody which turned comedian Bob Odenkirk into a middle-aged badass.

John Wick Chapter 4 is due out in theaters on March 24, 2023.
