Nick Kroll 'Spitgate' Mastermind

Nick Kroll acknowledges one of the controversial gossip concerning co-stars Harry Styles and Chris Pine. Recently, a video of Harry Styles on his way to sit next to Chris Pine made rounds on social media as the "One Direction" alum seemingly spit on Pine before taking his seat. However, a representative for the "Star Trek" actor confirms that Harry did not do the deed, and alludes to the claim as "the result of an odd online illusion".

"I'm the puppeteer," Kroll joked. "So I was like, 'Hey Harry, you know what would be a great idea? When you walk into the premiere in Venice, spit on Chris Pine.' And he was like, 'Got it.' But then he was like, 'I don't know if that's going to work.' So then I was like, 'You know what? Maybe you should just, you know, give me a kiss.' And then I asked him to spit in my mouth and he wouldn't do it."

Kroll referenced his spontaneous kiss with Harry Styles during the International Venice Film Festival. Despite the rumors, "Don't Worry Darling" proved its success by securing the top spot at the U.S. box office during its first weekend premiere.
