Actor Christian Bale reveals singing with singer-songwriter Taylor Swift in the upcoming "Amsterdam" film before getting stopped for this reason.

Bale's latest film project is to produce and star in a period mystery comedy film by David O. Russell titled "Amsterdam". The veteran actor is set to star alongside Anya Taylor-Joy, Margot Robbie, John David Washington, and Chris Rock. Additionally, a supporting role from pop star Taylor Swift will be featured in the film.

In a recent interview with The Hollywood Reporter, the "The Dark Knight" actor recalled telling his daughter about his singing on set alongside Taylor Swift, to which his daughter had comedically reacted, "Why would you be doing that?".

However, the 48-year-old actor admitted that he may not have aced the performance due to forgetting the lyrics.

"It was a very funny scene, actually, because J.D. [John David Washington] and myself had been practicing that song a little bit," Bale explained. "There were moments where I would forget the lyrics. So I'd look at J.D., he'd look at me, and then he'd forget, too. So I would have to mouth it to him. And then we were going flat. Our pitch was all over the place, but we were like, 'Yeah, but the feeling is right!'"

Set during the great depression, "Amsterdam" features three friends, portrayed by Christian Bale, John David Washington, and Margot Robbie, who become involved in the murder of a U.S. senator.

Why Christian Bale Stopped Singing

However, despite the effort the two actors put in to sing alongside the "All too well" singer, Director David O. Russell comedically intervenes in the scene.

"All of a sudden, David just goes, 'How about Christian and J.D. just shut up for this one and let Taylor do it?' And it was like we had been drowning out an angel's voice all day long with our cacophony and our rough, terrible voices. So it's really something when you have someone with as beautiful a voice as hers, singing right next to you." Bale recalled.

It is unknown whether the singing actors would actually make it into the final cut. "Amsterdam" is set to be released nationwide on October 7, 2022.
