Over 1,000 shoppers, both local and out-of-state, rushed to a high-end sample sale location in New York City, only for the event to swiftly descend into chaotic confusion.

The highly coveted brand Versace held a pop-up in Chelsea, Manhattan, at 125 West 18th street, where disarray quickly ensued just around opening time, at 9 a.m.

According to the New York Post, fights started breaking out before shoppers could get their hands on a single piece of luxury clothing.

One X user commented on the chaotic situation on Twitter, formally known as X, claiming the event ended just 35 minutes after it started.

"Some things are meant to be gatekept," the frustrated user posted.

Within this short time people are seen pushing, shoving, and becoming increasingly irritated within that short time. Officers were left trying their best to disperse a crowd of about 1,000 who wrapped the block waiting to enter the sale. Many deal-savvy patrons had camped out since 2 a.m. the night before.

Eyewitnesses say the event that opened at 9 a.m. was shut down shortly after, at approximately noon following the breakout of a fight.

A shopper that managed to enter, beekoroma, posted video footage to TikTok saying, "Versace sale ended before it started, but I got in."

Despite the event shutting down initially, they did reopen for business later in the day. No arrests were made, per the New York City Police Department.

"Please show up to the voting polls like this...I beg," one user commented.

"Do they line up like that for job applications though?" Another user replied.

According to the sample sale website, the location will be open for business through March 30.
