"I was inside at home when I hear gunshots and run out to see was what, only to see me sister lying in she car and blood, if you see blood, pouring out," Doll's brother recalled of the incident in an interview with Guyana newspaper Stabroek News.
According to the Guyana Police Force, the shooting happened just before midnight on Saturday. Lola Doll, 33, was sitting inside her car when an armed man on a motorcycle pulled up and opened fire. She was struck in the neck, face, hands, and right leg.
Neighbors rushed to call emergency services, and she was quickly taken to Georgetown Public Hospital, where doctors listed her condition as critical. Police confirmed they are reviewing CCTV footage from the area and urged anyone with information to come forward or call 911.
Suspect Identified
On Sunday, police named Paul Daby Jr. as the main suspect in the case. He is wanted for attempted murder, and investigators are working to trace his escape route and uncover a possible motive. The motive behind the attack remains unclear, with authorities not yet saying if it was linked to her career, personal life, or previous conflicts.
"The preliminary information indicates the victim was seated in her vehicle when a man on a motorcycle discharged several rounds at her before fleeing the scene," the official statement read.
