Jack Schlossberg Accuses FX's 'Love Story' of Exploiting Kennedy Family Legacy

Jack Schlossberg is speaking out against FX's new drama Love Story, accusing the series of exploiting his family's legacy for profit.
In an interview on CBS Sunday Morning that aired March 1, Schlossberg criticized executive producer Ryan Murphy for creating a show about his uncle, John F. Kennedy Jr., and aunt, Carolyn Bessette-Kennedy, without consulting the family.
"If you want to know someone who's never met anyone in my family, knows nothing about us, talk to Ryan Murphy," Schlossberg said.
"The guy knows nothing about what he's talking about, and he's making a ton of money on a grotesque display of someone else's life."
The FX series follows the romance of Kennedy Jr. and Bessette-Kennedy, leading up to their deaths in a 1999 plane crash near Martha's Vineyard, People reported.
Actors portray several family members, including Schlossberg's parents, Caroline Kennedy and Edwin Schlossberg.

Jack Schlossberg Urges Ryan Murphy To Donate Profits
Schlossberg said the show reduces real people to entertainment and fails to honor their memory.
"This is not a documentary," he said. He added that if Murphy truly cared about his uncle's legacy, he would donate some of the profits to causes Kennedy Jr. supported or to the JFK Library.
"Maybe he would donate some of that money to the JFK library to help keep President Kennedy's memory alive, but he's not. He's making money."
The criticism did not begin this week. When casting news first broke, Schlossberg wrote on Instagram that his family was never consulted about the series.
Murphy later responded on a podcast, questioning Schlossberg's reaction. Schlossberg fired back online, sharing childhood memories of his uncle to show how personal the story is to him.
Executive producer Brad Simpson has defended the show, saying it was made with sincerity and care.
According to Daily Mail, he said the team understood their "ethical obligation" to surviving family members and aimed to celebrate the lives of Kennedy Jr. and Bessette-Kennedy.
Schlossberg also tied his concerns to what he called growing misinformation about the Kennedy family in recent years.
He said public figures have used the Kennedy name in ways that confuse people about history.
