While setting the standards for his basketball performance is a no-brainer, Kobe Byrant is finding himself in another predicament; only this time it's in his marriage.

In an upcoming issue of New York Magazine, the star's wife, Vanessa Bryant, was very adamant in pointing out just how high she sets the bar for her husband's career.

Vanessa was interviewed by the publication along with other basketball wives mainly about their fashion taste. However, she had also managed to add the following declaration in regards to Kobe's regular and extended leave of absences:

"I certainly would not want to be married to somebody that can't win championships. If you're sacrificing time away from my family and myself for the benefit of winning championships, then winning a championship should happen every single year," she stressed.

Being the wife of Kobe also has some other game time perks that the fashionista spoke about in her interview.

"If you notice, I am the only one allowed in that [arena] tunnel. I don't like standing outside and giving him a kiss in front of all the cameras. So I stand in there to get away from them," she explained. "But then the cameras end up following.  And if the girls are there, sometimes, that's their kiss good night for Daddy, and when he comes home, they're asleep."

It was reported that the on-again off-again couple were in the process of a divorce in December. However, Vanessa has yet to finalize any divorce papers amid recent public chatter that the two are on the road to reconciliation.

The high-profile pair was last publically seen together at the 2012 London Olympic Games along with their daughters Gianna and Natalia.

With the Los Angeles Lakers recent acquisitions of all-stars Dwight Howard and Steve Nash, winning a championship in the 2012-2013 season is not farfetched.
