Vince Vaughn finds himself in tough bother after authorities stopped him at a DUI checkpoint just outside L.A. for suspicious driving.

Driving Under The Influence

The Wedding Crashers star was pulled over Sunday morning, June 10, on suspicion of drunk driving, according to local law enforcement. Authorities stopped Vaughn at around 12.30 a.m.

Authorities took the 48-year-old into custody on the same day. According to a police representative, officers arrested the actor for driving under the influence and for resisting, delaying, or obstructing authorities in the process.

The police also arrested the passenger traveling in the same vehicle for obstructing law enforcement and for public intoxication. The man's identity is unknown as of yet.

A spokesman for the Manhattan Beach P.D. advised that Vaughn was not fighting officers off, but rather delaying the process itself.

"There was no officer use of force or anything like that," he advised.

Both Vaughn and his companion were taken to the local jail. After posting bail, authorities allowed the actor and his unnamed companion to go. Details of the actor's bail were not released, and Vaughn's reps did not comment on the matter.

The Manhattan Beach P.D. posted about their DUI checkpoint earlier this week on Facebook.

"The intent of the checkpoint is to encourage sober designated drivers. By publicizing these educational and enforcement efforts, the Manhattan Beach Police Department believes that drinking and driving and driving while unlicensed will be reduced," said authorities in the post.

It went on to note their zero-tolerance approach, advising that if drivers were stopped and found to be over the legal limit, they would be arrested.

Not His First Brush With The Law

This is Dodgeball actor Vaughn's first DUI. However, he was also arrested back in 2001 in Wilmington, N.C.after a bar brawl that also involved fellow actor Steve Buscemi.

Buscemi was repeatedly stabbed during the altercation between him, Vaughn, screenwriter Scott Rosenberg, and a local man. Although Vaughn was arrested for assault, the charges were subsequently dropped.

He's most well-known for starring in a variety of mid-2000s frat comedies, with his latest role in action movie Brawl in Cell Block 99 widely considered to be a return to form for the actor.

Vaughn's will be seen next in the upcoming season of HBO hit crime drama True Detective, as well as WWE biopic Fighting With My Family, which is due for release next year.
