La noche de los Oscar 2026 tuvo de todo, gloria, sorpresas y una que otra cara de "¿qué acaba de pasar?". Aunque Sinners llegaba como la película con más nominaciones, al final no fue la gran reina absoluta de la ceremonia. Ese lugar se lo quedó One Battle After Another, que terminó llevándose seis premios, incluidos mejor película y mejor director para Paul Thomas Anderson.

Sinners, por su parte, cerró con cuatro estatuillas, entre ellas mejor actor para Michael B. Jordan, que se impuso en una de las categorías más comentadas de la noche.

Y sí, ahí estuvo una de las grandes sorpresas. Muchos ojos estaban puestos en Timothée Chalamet por Marty Supreme, después de una temporada de premios bastante sólida, pero al final el Oscar a mejor actor fue para Jordan por su doble trabajo en Sinners. Fue uno de esos giros que hacen que media red social se convierta en panel de análisis improvisado. Otra sorpresa importante fue que Sinners, pese a su dominio en nominaciones, no logró coronarse como mejor película.

En medio de esa batalla entre gigantes, Frankenstein, de Guillermo del Toro, tuvo una noche elegante y muy respetable. No ganó en las categorías grandes, pero sí salió con tres premios que confirmaron su fuerza visual: mejor diseño de producción, mejor maquillaje y peinado, y mejor diseño de vestuario. En otras palabras, no arrasó, pero sí dejó claro que cuando Del Toro entra al terreno de la estética, juega para ganar. La película había llegado con nueve nominaciones, así que no se fue con las manos vacías ni mucho menos.

Al final, los Oscar 2026 dejaron una postal muy Hollywood: una favorita que no terminó de arrasar, una película que salió más fuerte de lo esperado y un Frankenstein que convirtió su oscuridad en trofeos. Nada mal para una gala que, como siempre, necesitaba un poco de drama para sentirse viva.
